Worisun Homestay has three private bungalows and a two-room bungalow on the beach at the western end of Pulau Arborek. Worisun means “sunset” in the Betew language, and the bungalow verandahs provide the perfect vantage point for watching those.
All bedrooms sleep two and has the homestay standard bedding of mattresses on the floor, sheets, pillows, bolsters and mosquito nets. The bungalows are accessed from the rear, via a passage that leads to a covered verandah at the front. Both bungalows have excellent ocean and sunset views.
Meals are served in the Worisun Homestay dining room. The table and bench seating there also affords excellent ocean views and the dining room always has free drinking water, tea and coffee making supplies available for guests.
Guests share bathing and toilet facilities at Worisun Homestay. The bathroom building has two separate pebble-floored stalls, each of which supply bucket bathing equipment. A single squat toilet is also provided in one stall.
Worisun Homestay receives a strong phone signal which usually supports a (slow) 4G data connection. Electricity is from the village supply, which is available for 12 to 18 hours a day.
Arborek village is a very short walk away and basic supplies and cold drinks can be found in the village’s small shops.
As everywhere else in Raja Ampat, proper waste disposal and recycling facilities are not available on Arborek, so it’s always best to take any inorganic waste you create away with you when you leave. Inorganic waste left in Raja Ampat will more than likely eventually
find it’s way to the sea.
Only a little English is spoken at Worisun Homestay, so if you don’t speak Bahasa Indonesia, you’ll find bringing a phrasebook useful. (You’ll be able to find an English speaker on Arborek to help if any serious difficulties arise.)
