Raja Ampat Diva Homestay was known as Mankintus Homestay until January 2017.

Raja Ampat Diva Homestay is located southwest of Yenbeser village on Pulau Gam and has two beachfront private bungalows, each of which has a western style toilet and dip-mandi bathroom attached at the rear.

Both bungalows sleep two and are equipped with mattresses, mosquito nets, towels, light switches and chairs and small tables. Each bungalow also has a covered verandah with a hammock provided. The Superior Hut is 6×5 metres (excluding the verandah), while the Standard Hut measures 5×4 metres.

Meals are served at a large table with bench seating that is located in a nearby dining shelter which also has great ocean views.

Electricity is available from a generator which runs from sunset to around midnight. Raja Ampat Diva Homestay receives a good mobile phone signal which is used to provide a free wi-fi connection for their guests.

Basic supplies are available from small shops in Yenbeser which is a five minute walk away.

English is spoken at Raja Ampat Diva Homestay Homestay.

Transport / Getting there

Transfers between Waisai and Raja Ampat Diva Homestay are by longboat (3 passengers maximum) and cost IDR 600,000. The price is shared by boat passengers.

Read more about Raja Ampat boat transport prices here.

Raja Ampat Diva Homestay has a great location on the outskirts of Yenbeser village and is backed by dense jungle full of bird and animal life. The sandy beach provides easy access to the ocean and the house reef has great snorkelling. Bring your own snorkelling gear. Diving and sightseeing tours are also available. Sport fishing trips can also be arranged.

Village visits are easily made – it’s only a few minutes walk to Yenbeser, either along the beach or via a path that winds through the village cemetery. There’s good snorkelling from the Yenbeser jetty and the Dore Atri lagoon at the very northern end of the village is very pretty and inhabited by a host of juvenile fish and other creatures fond of seagrass habitats. (You have to follow a path from the back of the village around a headland to reach the northern half of Yenbeser and Dore Atri.)

Longer hikes and visits to see locally displaying Red Birds of Paradise can be arranged and Raja Ampat Diva Homestay can also provide traditional canoes for daily hire.

Diving with Raja Ampat Diva Homestay

Dives cost IDR 500,000 per person per dive and include equipment hire and guide fee. Raja Ampat Diva Homestay lies in the heart of all the popular Dampier Strait dive sites.

We stayed at Diva for 4 nights in July. Electronic communication is a bit hit and miss, but this is purely down to remoteness, so be patient. Our transfer from Sorong to the Homestay was fast and painless!!! It wasn’t stormy, so the sea was very calm.
The Homestay wife and husband, Nelly and Robbie were very friendly but their English was very limited. Sasha and Milkie family members also supported the family and theIr English was very good.
The Homestay was clean and very comfortable. Our room was clean, spacious and the attached toilet/washing facilities were basic, but very functional.
The food was served at the beach front and was always plentiful, fresh and very tasty, eating sat watching the dolphins swim by was priceless.
    Thank you for your hospitality.
    Kindest regards
    Suzanne & John

  2. We chose this place because it was close to a village and we wanted to get a feel for how a village is like. It is a short walk away by the cemetery. It was great to meet the children everyday playing at the jetty.
We also chose it because it is close to the birds of paradise location. We went ant it was good, i recommend going to the house of wallace and recommend spending some time there as you can see hornbills, cockatoos. It is interesting though that the price for the trip from here it is higher than from other further away islands.
The reef is the least spectacular from the ones we have been to in Raja Ampat.
Food was the best we had while in raja ampat.

We were there in the begin of July 2016,,,
We had a very nice experience here at Ndia and Joseph brand new bungalow. We felt like home. They helped us a lot. They organized the little expedition to see the paradise birds for us. The bungalow is really cosy, clean and well equipped. The garden facing the bungalows is proudly well kept and the see wiew is gorgeouse. We ate well and had plenty. Highly recommended! An outstanding homestay with a stunning beach and house reef!
Amazing food and hospitality warmly provided by Nidia, Robby and family.
Many thanks to Obed as well for taking me under his wing and showing me the sights.

  5. Many thanks to Peter for his help in organizing the transfer. His knowledge of English was very helpful in communicating with the local people. He is very friendly!

We stayed at several homestays around the Gam area and this was our favourite by far! The cottage is clean and comfortable with a great bed and bathroom. The food was varied and delicious, and we appreciated the doughnuts and pancakes! The beach outside the Homestay is beautiful, and there are other secluded beaches if you walk through the jungle to the right of the property. The thing we liked most was the friendliness of all the people: Peter, Roby and family took great care of us, and all the villagers were very friendly to us. We were even invited to a wedding which we really enjoyed! We also had a great time on the Birds of Paradise trip with Simon. Thank you all for a once in a lifetime experience!

This place is paradise ! We spent such a good time in our little beach, alone, in this great bungalow, that we came back few days later, for another three days. The people are very nice, Peter is a great guy, very helpful, and the food is AMAZING.
Nothing else to say. Absolutely wonderful.
    I wish I’d be there now…
