    Details

Bongso Homestay offers 3 over-water, private bungalows at Pulau Kri’s popular west end location.

The bungalows have raised beds. Bed covers, bolsters, pillows and mosquito nets are provided. Power outlets and electric fans are provided.

Bungalow verandahs have chairs and hammocks, and sunset views to Ransiwor and Yenbuba village on Mansuar.

Meals are served in Bongso Homestay’s beachside dining room. Free drinking water and tea and coffee making supplies are always available there.

Guests share a two-room bathroom building on land. One room contains dip mandi (bucket and ladle) bathing, The other houses a western style toilet.

Electricity for lighting and charging devices is provided by generator. The generator operates from sunset to around midnight.

Mobile phone reception at Bongso Homestay is usually excellent. A 4G data connection is usually available if you have the appropriate Telkomsel SIM.

Bongso Homestay is a short boat ride from Mansuar’s Yenbuba village where there are small shops to purchase basic supplies.

Please do take all your inorganic rubbish away with you when leaving Bongso Homestay. Like everywhere in Raja Ampat, there is no safe waste disposal or recycling available at Kri. Items like plastic and batteries that you leave behind will only contribute to the trashing of paradise.

Only a little English is spoken at Bongso Homestay, so bringing a translation app or phrasebook will ease communication.

    Transport / Getting there

Transfers between Waisai and Bongso Homestay cost IDR 800,000. Transfers are by longboat, and the trip price is shared by passengers. (Maximum of four.)

    Activities

Like all homestays, Bongso Homestay can organise snorkelling and sightseeing trips to anywhere you want to go.

Be sure to bring snorkelling gear, because the reefs around Bongso are fabulous. If you are a reasonably competent swimmer (and have fins!), it’s possible to cross to Ransiwor, and from there on to Yenbuba. Be sure to do it on the slack of the tide though, and inform your hosts of your plans.

Tidal currents in Raja Ampat are very strong, especially when flowing through narrow straits like the one between Mansuar and Kri.

There are dive centers very close by if you want to dive. Visit them to check availability.

Yenbuba village is very close, and is a nice place to visit. Mansuar’s jungle paths make long walks possible from Yenbuba.
