Details

Gibran Homestay offers four private, over-water bungalows on Kri’s southern shore.

Bungalow bedrooms have real beds equipped with mosquito nets, and pillows and bedlinen are provided. Other bedroom fittings include a small table, light switches and power outlets, and a clothesline and coathangers.

All bungalow verandahs have a hammock and small table and chairs provided.

Meals are served in a wood-floored, beachside dining room. Free drinking water and tea and coffee making supplies are always freely available to guests, and there is also a refrigerator that guests are welcome to use. (Bear in mind, though, that electricity is only available for about 6 hours a day!)

Gibran Homestay guests share a bathroom building that houses a western-style toilet and bucket bathing.

Electricity is provided by generator and is available from sunset to about midnight. Gibran Homestay usually receives a good 4G phone signal that supports a data connection.

English is spoken at Gibran Homestay.

There are no villages on Kri, so you’ll need to bring any essential consumeables with you. Basic supplies can be purchased from kiosks at Yenbuba village on nearby Pulau Mansuar.

As at all Raja Ampat Homestays, Gibran Homestay has no safe way of disposing of inorganic trash (especially plastic). So, if you want to avoid the trashing of paradise, please do take yours away with you when you leave.

Also in common with all other homestays, Sundays are a day of church and family obligations at Gibran Homestay. Homestays will provide Waisai transfers for guests who must arrive/depart on Sundays, but no other organised boat trips or guided activities are available on Sundays.

Transport / Getting there

One way transfers between Gibran Homestay and Waisai cost IDR 750,000. A longboat capable of carrying up to 8 passengers is used, and the total cost is shared by passengers.

Activities

Snorkelling & diving

Diving is available by arrangement with nearby Kri dive centers. Gibran Homestay’s house reef provides great snorkelling, and dolphins and turtles are frequent visitors. If you’re a competent swimmer (and can read tidal currents) then a host of superb nearby snorkelling sites are accessible without needing a boat.

Gibran Homestay tours and sightseeing

Gibran Homestay can arrange boats for snorkelling and sightseeing trips to anywhere you might want to visit. Just ask!
