Details
September 2023: Sauyai Homestay has reopened as Bin Meos Homestay.
Bin Meos Homestay joins the many others on Kri’s north shore and offers 3 VIP bungalows in the shade of beachside trees.
Bin Meos Homestay’s concrete-floored bungalows sleep 2 people. The bungalow bedrooms have real beds equipped with sheets, pillows, bolsters and mosquito nets. Each bungalow has an ensuite bathroom with western style toilet and both bucket bathing and a shower. Room light switches and power outlets for charging devices are provided.
Meals are served in a beachside, sand-floored dining shelter. Drinking water and tea and coffee making supplies are always available there free of charge.
Electricity at Bin Meos Homestay is provided by generator and is available from sunset to around midnight. The north shore of Kri receives a strong phone signal and a 4G data connection is usually available.
The nearest village to Bin Meos Homestay is Yenbuba at Mansuar. It’s about a 10 minute boat ride to Yenbuba but only basic supplies are available there, so it’s best to bring your favourite snacks and other must have items with you.
English is spoken at Bin Meos Homestay.
Please always take all your inorganic trash away with you when departing Bin Meos Homestay: There’s no means of safely recycling or disposing of such rubbish on Kri, and leaving it there will contribute to pollution in the islands.

Activities
Pulau Kri provides the opportunity for long beach walks at low tide. If you want to make a day of it, you could cross the sandbanks at the island’s western end to Yenbuba, then continue along the path that joins Yenbuba to the villages on Mansuar’s north coast. It’s also possible to cross from the north coast, past a lake to the south coast village of Sawandarek and arrange a pickup from there.
A lookout point on the hills above the western end of Kri provides panoramic views to Waigeo and Gam in the north, and southward across the Dampier Strait to Batanta. Sturdy footwear is recommended for the jungle paths that climb to the lookout!
Diving and snorkelling
Diving can be arranged with neighbouring dive centers and excellent snorkelling is available at the door (bring your own snorkelling equipment). Bin Meos Homestay can provide snorkelling and/or sightseeing trips to anywhere you want to go. A selection of the most popular destinations can be found in the table below. Prices are in Indonesian Rupiah and are per trip, shared by participants. Trips are by large longboat capable of carrying up to eight passengers.
