    Details

West Mansuar Homestay occupies a long beach, far from all noise other than nature. It is located on the western cape of Pulau Mansuar, less than 10 minutes from Arborek, 20 minutes from Kri and 1 hour from Waisai.

Eight bungalows occupy a secluded, west facing beach. All bungalows have verandahs with small tables, chairs and hammocks, and afford unobstructed, panoramic ocean and sunset views. All bungalows sleep 2 on raised beds. Sheets, pillows, bolsters and mosquito nets are supplied, and bedrooms are equipped with room light switches and power outlets.

VIP bungalows have ensuite bathrooms. Private bungalow guests share two bathroom buildings. Each building has a western style toilet and separate bathroom.

Meals at West Mansuar Homestay are served in an over-water dining room. There is a large dining table with bench seating. Free drinking water, hot water, and tea and coffee are available 24 hours.

West Mansuar Homestay receives a fairly strong and consistent 4G signal. Generator powered electricity is available from sunset until midnight.

West Mansuar homestay is quite isolated so be sure to bring any supplies you can’t live without. The village kiosks, accessible only by boat, sell very basic supplies of the kind used by local people.

Raja Ampat suffers from a total lack of safe and effective waste disposal and recycling infrastructure. Please limit what you bring with you and be sure to take all your inorganic trash away with you when you leave. You’ll be contributing to  the trashing of paradise if you leave it behind.

English is not spoken at West Mansuar Homestay, so bringing a translation app or phrasebook is recommended.

Coconut crabs: This protected species is unfortunately hunted and sold at some places in Raja Ampat. Please don’t buy any. West Mansuar Homestay will refuse to cook them for you and will insist you release them instead.

    Activities

West Mansuar Homestay is a beautiful, quiet hideaway, centrally located to Raja Ampat’s attractions, and with great snorkelling all around.

Sightseeing excursions and snorkelling trips can be arranged from West Mansuar Homestay.

The famed manta sites of Manta Sandy, Manta Ridge and Manta Slope are all within 10 minutes’ boat travel.

    Snorkelling

Be sure to bring snorkelling gear, because the snorkelling in front of West Mansuar homestay is excellent. The condition of the coral on both the top-reef and the drop-off is outstanding, as is the array of marine life, which includes reef sharks, turtles, big schools of reef fish, pelagic fish and mantas. In front of the mangroves to the side of the homestay there are walking sharks and sometimes dugongs.

    Diving

Diving is available by arrangement with neighbouring Mantastic Scuba Paradise.
