    Details

    Sampari Paradise Homestay offers 2 private beachfront bungalows on the east coast of Pulau Rambau, near Batanta’s western end.

    The bungalows sleep two on mattresses on the floor. The usual bedding and mosquito net are supplied, and an extra mattress for a third guest can be provided if needed.

    Both bungalows have ensuite bathrooms with western style toilets.

    Meals are served in a beachside dining room, where free drinking water and tea and coffee making supplies are always available for guests.

    Only a weak 4G signal is available at Sampari Paradise Homestay.  Expect to be offline while at the homestay.

    Electricity is supplied by generator and is available from sunset to around midnight. If you’re willing to pay for the extra fuel required, then the generator can electricity can be provided at other times.

    Very little English is spoken at Sampari Paradise: If you have no Bahasa Indonesia, then taking an offline translation app or phrasebook would be best.

    The nearest village is Yenyar, which is about a ten minute boat ride away. Be sure to stock up with anything you consider essential, because local villages only have very basic supplies available.

    Safe rubbish disposal is unavailable on any of the Raja Ampat islands. To avoid contributing to the trashing of paradise, please do take all the inorganic waste you create away with you when you leave.

    Transport / Getting there

    Sampari Paradise Homestay transfers are by longboat. The boat used can carry up to five passengers. (if there are more than four of you, then a larger boat will be used, and an extra fee may apply.)

    Public Boat to Batanta

    If you have plenty of time, you don’t mind a bit of discomfort, and you want spend as little as possible on transport costs, then there are cargo boats that you can use to get to Batanta. (Obviously, if you are going to arrive on the cargo boat, then you don’t need to request a Waisai pickup when submitting the booking form above.)

    Activities

    Off-grid snorkeling, bird watching and beach relaxation.

    Be sure to bring snorkelling gear! Pulau Rambau’s reefs are rich and healthy. Good snorkelling is available off the beach at Sampari Paradise Homestay. Dugongs are occasional visitors.

    Snorkelling trips to nearby Pulau Dayan and reefs further afieldcan be provided on request.

    The village of Marandan Weser/Yenyar is nearby, and, as one of the last villages in the islands where all the houses are tradtionally constructed, it’s well worth a visit.

    Pulau Rambau’s forests are filled with birdlife, including the mound building megapode known locally as the maleo.
