Details
Koridek Homestay offers two VIP bungalows on a fabulous southeast Gam beach.
Koridek takes its name from the sunrise, which illuminates the beach every morning.
Koridek’s barrel-vaulted bungalows sleep two on raised beds. A mosquito net, sheets and pillows, and bath towels are provided. The bungalows are equipped with light switches and power outlets.
Couples with one young child can share the double bed. If you want to do that, book for two and and pay IDR 200,000 cash for meals for your child.
Bungalow ensuite bathrooms have showers, bucket bathing (for when the electricity is off) and western style toilets.
Meals are served in Koridek’s beachside dining room. As at all homestays, free drinking water and tea and coffee making supplies are always available there.
Electricity for lighting and charging devices is supplied by generator and is available from sunset to around midnight. If guests are willing to pay for the extra fuel, then electricity can be provided on demand.
Koridek receives a weak and variable 4G signal, so guests should expect to be mostly offline while at the homestay.
Yenbeser and Friwen villages are about 10 minutes away by boat. Only basic supplies are available at village shops, so be sure to bring your essential supplies with you.
Minimal English is spoken at Koridek Homestay. Bringing an offline translation app or phrasebook is highly recommended.
Please do take your inorganic trash away with you when you leave: There is no safe means of inorganic waste disposal in Raja Ampat. (See our Don’t rubbish Raja Ampat article for more about this.)

Activities
Koridek Homestay has good snorkelling straight off the beach, and can provide snorkelling and sightseeing trips to anywhere you might want to go.
Diving can be arranged (subject to availability) at neighbouring Kordiris Homestay.
The jungle behind Koridek is home to kuskus, squirrel-like tree rats, black king cockatoos and bush fowl (maleo) that build huge nest mounds in the forest.
The winding mangrove-filled waterways and dense jungles of the Dore Dor lie behind Koridek. The Dore Dor is a birdwatchers paradise, alive with hornbills, sea eagles, eclectus parrots, kingfishers, and herons.
