A perfect hideaway for couples, Bewas Homestay is a single private bungalow on the south shore of Pulau Arborek, looking across the strait to Mansuar and Batanta.

Bewas Homestay’s bungalow is over water at high tide and has a covered verandah with a small table and chairs and a hammock. The verandah affords excellent Dampier Strait and sunset views. The bungalow bedroom sleeps two on a mattress on the floor, and bedding includes sheets, pillows, bolsters and a mosquito net.  A small table, shelves and a pedestal fan are provided and multiple power outlets are available for charging devices.

Meals are served in a dining shelter on the beach behind the bungalow. The dining room has a large table and bench seating, great ocean views and a free supply of tea, coffee and drinking water are always available to guests there.

A pebble-floored bathroom provides bucket bathing and a western style toilet.

There was only a weak mobile phone signal at Bewas Homestay when we visited in June 2016, but it was one capable of supporting a data connection and could be improved by walking into the village. Arborek Village electricity supply is available from 6pm to 6am.

Bewas Homestay is in Arborek village where basic supplies and cold drinks are available. Diving can be organised in conjunction with Arborek Dive Shop.

Please do read why you should take all your inorganic trash away with you when you leave.

No English is spoken at Bewas Homestay but you’ll be able to find someone at Lalosi or in the village to help in the event of communication difficulties.
