    Details

Citrus Homestay is a single, private, over-water bungalow, occupying a sheltered cove on Pulau Yanggelo’s northern shore.

Pulau Yanggelo lies off the far western tip of Gam. (See the map below.)

Citrus Homestay sleeps two on a mattress on the floor. The usual mosquito net and bedding are provided, and room light switches and power outlets for charging devices are fitted.

Meals are served in Citrus Homestay’s beachside dining room. Free drinking water, and tea and coffee making supplies are always available there.

A separate bathroom building provides a western style toilet, and dip mandi (bucket) bathing.

Electricity is provided by generator and is available from sunset to around midnight.

Citrus Homestay only receives a weak and erratic phone signal. Expect to be offline while at the homestay.

Kapisawar village is about twenty minutes away by boat. Basic provisions and a data connection can be found there.

Please do take all your inorganic rubbish away with you when you leave. As everywhere in Raja Ampat, there is no safe local waste disposal. Any plastic, batteries and other inorganic waste you leave behind will only contribute to the trashing of paradise.

Only a little English is spoken at Citrus Homestay: If you don’t speak Bahasa Indonesia, then bringing an offline translation app or phrasebook is recommended.

    Transport / Getting there

Waisai transfers are by longboat. A single transfer (from OR to Waisai) costs IDR 1,300,000

The cost is shared by passengers (max 4).

    Activities

Bring snorkelling gear! There’s excellent snorkelling around Yanggelo. The famed Citrus Ridge site is at the door.

Piaynemo, the Pam Islands and the islands of West Waigeo are also accessible by day trips. Your hosts can provide these and other excursions on request.

The surrounding bird-filled jungle and quiet bay, the walking sharks below your verandah, and the lack of phone and internet connection make Citrus Homestay a relaxing off-grid paradise.
