Pak Herman Mayor is an experienced Raja Ampat expedition guide who also specialises in small group dive and snorkeling tours.
The owner of Daroyen Village, Herman can be contacted via his son Yohanes:
Herman Mayor guided the renowned icthyologist Dr Gerald Allen on his first exploratory dives in Raja Ampat back in the late 1990s. It was those exploratory dives that prompted Conservation International’s 2001 rapid marine assessment survey and the scientific community’s realisation that Raja Ampat is a treasure trove of biodiversity. Pak Herman’s most recent expedition was in 2013 with a Korean television crew filming nesting leatherback turtles at Saursapoh, south of Sorong on the West Papua mainland.
When not working as an expedition guide, Herman leads small group diving and snorkeling tours to the best of the Dampier Strait sites. See the Daroyen Village page for more information about sites, special tours, and Raja Ampat accommodation and snorkeling tour packages and prices.
If you’re looking to organise an expedition, or want to dive or snorkel with an experienced guide who has a wealth of local knowledge and years of experience to share, contact Pak Herman to see how he can help.
