Snorkelling and diving
Diving is available at Keru Indos Homestay in association with Arborek Dive Shop. There’s good snorkelling (bring your own gear) all along the southern coast of Gam and Keru Indos has a great house reef.
Snorkelling and sightseeing trips can be arranged as desired and use Keru Indos’ longboat, which can carry up to 4 passengers. Just a few of the many options are quoted in the following table. Prices are in Indonesian Rupiah and are per trip, not per person.

Village visits, hiking, Bird of Paradise viewing
Kapisawar is a pretty village with a shady beach and plenty of opportunity for social interaction. The village jetty also provides good snorkelling at high tide, but beware of currents out near the end when the tide is running.
A shady concrete walking path joins Kapisawar to Sawinggrai village to the east. Sawinggrai also offers social interaction, fabulous jetty snorkelling and occasional cultural performances in the building on the end of the jetty. The path continues to the east, past a number of other homestays to Nudibranch Homestay where there’s a solid boardwalk that allows you to easily explore the mangrove forest.
Red Birds of Paradise display at dawn and dusk in the jungle inland from Sawinggrai – just ask if you’d like to organise a guided tour.
